The reporter recently learned from the Development and Reform Commission of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region that the minority autonomous region in the northwestern part of China is investing heavily in building Asia’s largest coal chemical base, Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base. This project, which is called "Project No. 1" in Ningxia, will have an investment of more than 100 billion yuan between 2006 and 2010.
Ningxia is one of China's 13 million-ton-ton coal production bases. According to the Ningxia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Base has entered the peak of investment since 2007, and the annual investment is expected to reach more than 10 billion yuan.
Wang Xi, general manager of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group, said that between 2004 and 2006, Ningdong Energy and Chemical Base had built 7 pairs of mines and 3 coal chemical projects with a total capacity of more than 60 million tons. At present, 520,000 tons of coal-based olefins projects have been started. This project is the first large-scale coal chemical project in the world that uses polypropylene as a raw material to produce polypropylene, with a total investment of about 17 billion yuan. It is expected to form a complete set of chemical products after it is put into production in 2009. The industrial chain has an annual output of 1.67 million tons of intermediate products, 500,000 tons of final product polypropylene, 188,800 tons of by-product gasoline, 41.20 tons of liquid fuel and 13,800 tons of sulfur.
In addition, 210,000 tons of dimethyl ether and 250,000 tons of methanol will be completed and put into operation in August this year, and 5 million tons of coal can be converted on-site every year.
"Ningxia coal must be based on local transformation and complete development." Zhang Wenjiang, chairman of Shenhua Ningxia Coal Group, revealed that before 2020, Ningxia plans to produce 130 million tons of coal at the base, and the new production will be mainly used for coal chemical industry. Ningxia's position in the coal structure in China is a limited area for relocation: relying on coal to build a large-scale thermal power base in China and an important coal chemical base.
According to the plan, Ningxia will build an important energy and chemical industry base in China by 2020. At that time, the indirect coal liquefaction production capacity will reach 10 million tons, the coal-based methanol production capacity will reach 830,000 tons, and the coal-based olefin production capacity will reach 1.22 million tons.
“In the area of ​​more than 50 square kilometers, 15 million to 20 million tons of coal chemical products will be collected, which will be Asia's largest coal chemical base.” Zhang Wenjiang said that when contending for coal chemical projects in various parts of China, Ningxia’s preference for the country, in addition to its own advantages in coal resources, depends on the relatively abundant water resources in the region. This is a coal-producing province in Shanxi and Shaanxi. , Inner Mongolia and other places can not be compared. Relying on the abundant Yellow River water resources, the total water supply capacity of the Ningdong base will eventually reach 360 million cubic meters per year, which is sufficient to carry the development of coal chemical industry.
