It is reported that South Korea's heavy lifting company TPI Megaline has selected ABB's Octopus ship software to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the company's "caravan"-class semi-submersible ship.
This semi-submersible ship mainly transports various oil rigs and drill ships. ABB's software will help the ship not be afraid of bad weather and acceleration, and TPI Megaline's customers can also focus on their cargo transportation voyages through the use of ABB's fleet portal.
Juha Koskela, general manager of ABB's ship and port business, said, "OCTPOPUS ship software will enhance the efficiency and safety of the shipping industry. Through continuous strengthening of contacts, we will help TPI Megaline strengthen its shore capabilities."
ABB's Octopus ship software is based on information principles such as ship parameters and loads as well as weather forecasts. This pre-loading information will give the ship's captain a clear idea of ​​the safest and most efficient navigation. In addition to the dynamic prediction function, the Octopus software also includes three sensors for dynamic monitoring of the ship. The ship can be dynamically monitored anywhere in the world, and both the shipping company and the cargo owner can receive the information in real time.

Control Arm:
