It is reported that with the significant expansion of the automotive and smart phone market, Mitsubishi Chemical decided to invest approximately 1.5 billion yen, doubling the production capacity of the lithium-ion battery negative electrode material of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qingdao Ya Candomo Chemicals Co., Ltd.
It is expected that by the fall of 2012, Qingdao Jacobs Chemicals Co., Ltd. will increase its annual production capacity to 8,000 tons. At present, Qingdao Yoneng has production equipment with an annual output of 4,000 tons of anode materials.
