According to Reuters, auto parts suppliers are increasing their productivity this year to meet the production needs of automakers including Ford.

Ford CEO Alan Mulally pointed out that this may ease Ford's capacity bottleneck. In 2011, Ford Motor Co. accounted for 16.8% of the U.S. market, and in 2012, this figure dropped to 15.5%. Mulally said that part of the reason is that the lack of supply of component manufacturers and Ford's production capacity decline, while the decline in production capacity will lead to car production can not meet market demand, indirectly lead to decline in market share.

Mulally said at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Tuesday that "The balance of supply and demand for our production capacity depends partly on the supply efficiency of component suppliers. At present, the capacity bottleneck has been eased."
