Temperature is the main source of heat energy from seed germination to emergence, and plays a dominant role in seed emergence. In the moderate temperature zone, the seedling emergence process is accelerated with the increase of temperature; if the temperature is too high or too low, the seedling emergence will be slow. Seeds are living organisms, and their germination and emergence are greatly affected by soil temperature. A multi-point soil temperature and humidity recorder was used to observe and measure the progress of the process of maize seed from germination to emergence under different soil temperature conditions. Through systematic statistical analysis of the test results, it was clear that the soil temperature and the seed emergence process progress The functional relationship of the seed is measured to determine the starting temperature and effective accumulated temperature of the seedlings, which provides a scientific basis for practical application.
According to the viewpoint of plant physiology, the optimum seedling emergence temperature range is 8~40°C. Therefore, in the test process, all the treated seeds are placed in the appropriate temperature zone to reduce the experimental error and increase the test efficiency. In a set period of time, observe the time from seeding to seedlings under different temperature treatments, and analyze the experimental results through corresponding mathematical statistical methods to discuss the relationship between soil temperature and seed emergence. The experimental results show that the average time required for seedlings to be sowed in each treatment is 4.67 to 16.67 days, with a very poor 12.00 days, and a coefficient of variation (cv) of 56.5%. It shows that the time required for seed sowing to seedlings varies greatly under different temperature conditions. In the F test, the difference between treatments reached a very significant level (F treatment=188.0475**). In the T test, compared with CK, the average time required for the seeds to be sown in each treatment reached a very significant level. It shows that under other conditions, different soil temperatures have extremely significant effects on seed emergence. In addition, the correlation between soil temperature and the progress of seed emergence has reached a very significant level, indicating that the progress of seed emergence is closely related to soil temperature. The soil temperature and humidity recorder is the best instrument for recording soil temperature.
Therefore, in the production practice, the change of soil temperature should be firmly grasped and sowing should be conducted in a proper period in order to maximize the seed emergence rate.
